Nash Everywhere Digital Academy (NEDA), a part of Nash County Public Schools, offers 2nd-12th grade students a unique opportunity to engage in digital learning. This innovative program expands educational accessibility and embraces diverse learning styles, catering to students who thrive in an online environment. By providing a digital learning platform, NEDA helps prepare students for the increasingly digital world, equipping them with essential skills like self-discipline, digital literacy, and the ability to collaborate remotely. This approach not only enhances traditional learning methods but also ensures education is more inclusive and adaptable to the needs of every student.

The most recent federal data show that in the 2020-21 school year, at least 14.7 million students nationwide were chronically absent. This means that chronic absence has almost doubled from the more than 8 million students, pre-Covid-19, who were missing so many days of school that they were academically at risk. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences, and suspensions—can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.

NCPS celebrated the dedication of Mrs. Kathleen Shelton and Mrs. Patricia Wade, co-substitutes at Winstead Ave Elementary, with a surprise visit from district leaders. Recognizing their commitment, they received a gas gift card and a lunch treat sponsored by Kelly Services. Shelton and Wade, in their third year at Winstead Ave Elementary, have shown remarkable dedication, missing only one day in three years. Both individually have served 45+ years in education. Their impact includes impressive test score improvements, notably an 8.4% rise in the EC students' subgroup data from the start to the end of the last year.
