🌟 Students Bring Fairy Tales to Life at the Nashville Courthouse 🌟 Our 4th and 5th-grade students in Mrs. Adkins' class had a truly unforgettable experience during their recent field trip to the Nashville Courthouse! As part of their study of the legal system, students toured the courthouse, met several official officers of the court, and even stepped into the roles of judge, attorneys, witnesses, and jury members. The highlight of the day was a mock civil trial: The Bear Family vs. Gold E. Locks. With great enthusiasm (and a few giggles), students presented their case, examined evidence, and practiced persuasive argument skills—all while learning firsthand about the workings of a courtroom. We are incredibly grateful to Mrs. Kelly Shore for helping lead and coordinate this special learning opportunity. Her dedication made this real-world connection to our curriculum both meaningful and fun! It was a day full of learning, laughter, and a little bit of fairy tale justice! #NCPS #NCPSchools #NashCounty #NashCountyPublicSchools

🚀🌟 STEM Design Challenge 🚀🌟 Recently, teams from all NCPS middle schools took part in the STEM Design Challenge, sponsored by STEP. We deeply appreciate the chance for students to engage in critical thinking, robotics coding, and K'nex construction, all while integrating concepts from the novel The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba. Events like this ignite innovation, creativity, and enhance problem-solving abilities among our students. Rocky Mount Middle School proudly came in 2nd place overall! #STEP #ScienceTechnologyEngineeringMath #RockyMountMiddle #STEMDesignChallenge

🐟🔬 Exciting learning at Middlesex Elementary! We’re thrilled to share that Middlesex Elementary was awarded the SHAD in the Classroom grant this year! Through this amazing opportunity, 5th-grade students got hands-on with science by dissecting fish similar to shad—crappie, carp, and smallmouth bass. This hands-on activity helped students understand the anatomy of a shad 🐠 and learn directly from Kendall, a conservationist from NC State! 🌿📚 What an unforgettable experience in science, conservation, and real-world learning! 👏💙 #NCPS #MiddlesexElementary #HandsOnLearning #ScienceInAction #ShadInTheClassroom #NCState #STEMeducation

The trip was sponsored by the Nash Community College Global Scholars Club under the leadership of Professor Zack Morgan.
