The 2022-23 Summer Commencement for NCHS, NNHS, RMHS, SNHS, and Tar River will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 6 pm in NCHS's gymnasium. The doors will open at 4:45 pm and close promptly at 5:45 pm. All outside guests need tickets, except babies 2 and under who are allowed without a ticket. NCPS' staff can attend if they have their District Issued identification.
Due to today's storm, we understand that some students may have been affected, and we want to assure you that your child's safety is our top priority.
Northern Nash Summer Scholar Site will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, July 20, 2023. All, faculty are kindly requested to follow the directions provided by the principal for staff working hours information.
Summer Scholar Sites: Red Oak Elementary School and Red Oak Middle School will remain open.
If your child cannot make it to school tomorrow, it is completely understandable, and their absence will be excused.
However, for families who can safely bring their children to school, please note that the school will remain open. Our buses will be operable and we will let you know if anything changes. Our staff will be here to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

NCPS CTE Teacher of the Year (Bard Collins)
The Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) CTE Teacher of the Year is a prestigious award identifying a teacher who excels in the teaching profession for Career and Technical Education.
Selecting the CTE Teacher of the Year is a multi-level process. The CTE Teacher of the Year must maintain an effective teaching history and perform well on essays pertaining to High-Quality CTE Program Implementation, Leadership, and Innovation.
The NCPS CTE Teacher of the Year submits an application to compete for the North Carolina CTE Teacher of the Year through the North Carolina Center for Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT).

The juniors of the IB Diploma Program at RMHS hosted their Theory of Knowledge Exhibition today. The exhibition was a journey to explore how we know what we know rather than accepting one's personal perspective as an absolute truth. The students explored concepts such as emotion, intuition, language, culture, and perception through the lenses of indigenous societies and modern technology.
