Nelson Johnston Named Principal of Northern Nash High School

Rocky Mount, N.C. - Northern Nash High School announces Nelson Johnston as its new principal, effective July 2023. With 13 years of experience as a high school principal, Johnston brings a wealth of expertise and a strong commitment to educational excellence. During his tenure, Johnston has demonstrated exceptional communication skills, fostering open dialogue among colleagues, students, and the community. He is known for creating safe learning environments and implementing effective policies to support continuous improvement for teachers and students. Johnston served as Principal at Fike High School, Wilson Early College, and Springfield Middle School, including Interim Principal at Beddingfield High School. His diverse background has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of educational leadership. "I am excited to immerse myself in the Northern Nash community and build strong relationships with its members," said Johnston. "Together, we will create a collaborative environment that supports our students' personal and academic growth."
