Nash Board of Education Work Session and Regular Meeting Monday, November 4, 2024

The Nash Board of Education will hold the following scheduled meetings on Monday, November 4, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m.:

·         Board of Education Work Session

·         Regularly Scheduled Board of Education Meeting

These meetings are open to the public.

Location: Nash County Public Schools Administrative Building, 930 Eastern Avenue Nashville, N.C. 27856

The work session will begin at 5:00 p.m. Following the opening of the work session, the Board will move into closed session. Afterward, the Board will return to open session for the regular business meeting.

Members of the public may view all public portions of the meetings (i.e., every part except the closed session).

Public Comment: The public may submit comments in one of the following ways:

·         In-person: Attend the meeting and comment publicly.

·         Written comment: Email a comment during the designated time to be read aloud by staff.

·         Each individual is limited to one public comment per meeting, whether written or spoken.

Those wishing to address the Board must contact Carrie Davis in the superintendent’s office at (252) 462-2511 or cbdavis@ncpschools.net by 12:00 p.m. on November 4, 2024.

Rules of Order and Decorum: All normal Board rules of order and decorum for public address apply to both in-person and written comments. The Chair reserves the right to rule any comment out of order.

Closed Session: The Board will enter a closed session in accordance with General Statute 143-318.11(a)(1), (a)(3), and (a)(6) to:

·         Prevent the disclosure of confidential personnel files under G.S. 115C-321.

·         Consider matters related to the initial employment of an individual employee.

·         Prevent the disclosure of confidential student records under G.S. 115C-402.

·         Consult with the Board’s attorney to preserve attorney-client privilege.
