Nash County Public Schools Announces Six New Principal Appointments
NASH COUNTY, N.C. — Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) has announced principal appointments at six schools effective July 1. The appointments, approved by the Board of Education on May 6, represent a significant step in enhancing educational leadership within the district following the demerger.
Bailey Elementary School: Quintin Mangano, the Principal at Nashville Elementary, will become the new Principal. Mangano was a finalist for NCPS Principal of the Year in 2023-2024.
Nashville Elementary: Darsheka "Tiffany" Hopkins, currently the Principal of D.S. Johnson Elementary, will take over as Principal. Hopkins was a finalist for NCPS Principal of the Year in 2020-2021.
Winstead Avenue Elementary School: Vanessa Love, the current Principal at Edwards Middle School, has been named the new Principal.
Edwards Elementary School: Dr. Allen Michael Wilson, currently the Principal at Bailey Elementary School, will serve as the new school's Principal. Dr. Wilson was the district's 2024-2025 NCPS Principal of the Year finalist.
Williford Early Learning Center and Nash Everywhere Digital Academy (NEDA): Kelvin Shackleford, currently the Principal at Williford Elementary, will continue with his role as Williford changes to a Pre-K center and take the reins of NEDA.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Ellis said, "July 1 marks a new chapter for Nash County Public Schools. We are confident that these appointments will greatly benefit our schools and communities. Each leader brings a unique vision and dedicated commitment to excellence that will drive our district as we continue to grow forward together."
