Students are required to complete all core area courses and exams successfully that are mandated by North Carolina legislation and the Future Ready Core curriculum.

NCPS requires an additional six elective credits to graduate.
The six additional credits that are required locally include subjects like the arts, physical education and career and technical education courses.
Graduation Recognition - Latin Honors Recognition System
Upon graduation, Nash County Public School graduates are recognized for their academic achievement using the Latin Honors Recognition system. The requirements are as follows:
Summa cum laude – GPA of a 4.250 or higher (weighted)
Magna cum laude – GPA of a 4.000-4.249 (weighted)
Cum laude – GPA of a 3.750-3.999 (weighted)
