Nash County Public Schools will operate on an early release schedule Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, as follows: All Elementary Schools will be released early at 2:00 p.m. All Middle Schools and Tar River Academy will be released early at 2:30 p.m. All traditional High Schools will be released early at 1:30 p.m. CITI High School and Early College High School will be released early at 11:30 a.m All exams will continue as planned. All after-school activities and events are canceled due to the weather forecast. Due to the forecast of below-freezing conditions and the potential for today’s precipitation to freeze on roadways, Nash County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for staff and students on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Essential personnel should report at their regular time, provided it is safe to do so. Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school day. Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe in this weather. For any inquiries, contact your respective school. NES student council is will be hosting a toy drive. We will be accepting any new toys, coloring books, art supplies, stuffed animals, or small blankets to help spread holiday cheer in our community! We will collect items through the week of December 9-13.

Good morning Cardinals, Tomorrow, December 6, 2024 is the final day for our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop, please send money tomorrow morning if you would like your child to purchase gifts. We are inviting all of our families to join us for our Winter Program of Holiday Traditions. All kindergarten, first, and second grade students will be performing on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The PTA meeting will begin at 6pm, followed by the performance. All students should arrive by 5:45pm dressed in festive holiday colors. Our sports teams tryouts are next week, Monday boys basketball, Tuesday girls basketball, and Wednesday cheer tryouts. The flyers and permission slips have been sent home with fourth and fifth grade students. Lastly our student council is will be hosting a toy drive. Nashville Elementary will be participating in the elementary basketball league. The league will run from March 1 through April 12, 2025. Our 4th & 5th grade students have an opportunity to participate and are welcomed to tryout for our boys or girls basketball team or our cheer team. Please see the flyers below for information. Please join us Thursday November 7th from 4pm to 7pm for a night of family, food, and fun at McDonald's in Nashville, NC. The staff of NES will celebrate with Grimace, and McDonalds will give a portion of proceeds from the night to our school. It will be lots of fun!

Candyman Fundraiser Order forms and money are due tomorrow, September 18, 2024!

Good evening Nashville Cardinals, Here are a few announcements for the week. Kindergarten parents please ensure you have submitted immunization and physical forms to our school nurse to avoid your child's exclusion from school. Candyman Fundraiser ends on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Please submit the order form, money, and envelope to your child's teacher on Wednesday. Thursday September 19, 2024 is our official Open House Title I Parent Night at 6pm in the gym. We will meet to share school information, testing data, and title one funds for our school this year. The PTA president will provide some updates for upcoming PTA fundraisers and events. Parents will then transition to meet with teachers at 6:30 for Open House with updates on class schedules, grading procedures, as well as other important information. Please note, our PTA board will meet at 5:15pm on Thursday, any parents that would like to attend please plan to meet in the gym at 5:15pm. Good evening Nashville Cardinals, These are a few announcements for the week. Tomorrow our staff and students will complete a Lock Down drill to ensure we are prepared for emergency situations. Our third grade students will be administered the Beginning of Grade assessment on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Thursday, September 12, 2024 is our Fall Picture Day, all students have received Lifetouch picture forms with information for purchasing picture packets. Parents of kindergarten students please be reminded that physicals and immunizations are due. If these items are not received by September 25, 2024, students will be excluded from school until the required forms are returned to school. Letters have been provided to kindergarten parents with resources and contact information for physical and immunization appointment options. As a reminder, Monday, September 9, 2024 all NCPS Elementary schools will be introducing a new safety measure and we wanted to keep you informed. Each week, 10% of our students will be randomly selected to walk through a metal detector or be wanded by a trained staff member. This will include students who ride the bus, van riders, car riders, and/or walkers. Rest assured, our team will handle this with the utmost care and respect for every student, and we'll be monitoring the results to make sure everything runs smoothly. Lastly as a reminder, to our morning carline parents, please come in on Green Street, turn left on Joyner Street, turn right on Lucille, and turn right on Collins to enter our carline. This is the correct flow of traffic that everyone should follow. This will help to ensure we are able to move traffic as quickly as possible.
