Good afternoon! I hope everyone has had a great weekend! Here are a few updates for the week. We have ended our United Way donations with close to $3200 raised. That's a great donation. Thank you to all the parents, students and staff that donated! Wednesday, October 18th, is Unity Day. We are encouraging everyone to wear orange in support of this day. We wear orange on this day to show we stand against bullying and support kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Thursday, October 19th, is an Early Release day and students will be dismissed at 1pm. Please make sure you are in the car line and at the bus stop 2 hours earlier than normal. Friday, October 20th, was originally a teacher workday; however, it is now a regular student day. Red Ribbon week is October 23-27. This is the week we pledge to be drug free and show our support by wearing clothes to support each day's theme. You will see the themes for the day in the Parent Newsletter. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and we will see you tomorrow!

Good afternoon Cougar families! If you still have CandyMan orders and money, it should have been turned in Friday. Please make sure everything is turned in Monday morning so we can close our fundraiser. Fall pictures were sent home this week. If you have any concerns about the pictures, please contact the school. We do have a makeup picture day scheduled in November. These are the pictures we use for the yearbook so it's important all students have a picture made even if you do not want to purchase them. Tuesday, October 10th, we will have a curriculum night at Middlesex Elementary. The event will begin in the gym at 5:30 and then you will be able to visit classrooms to hear important information about mCLASS as well as what your child will be learning throughout the year. We are very excited our Dual Language classes will be performing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. Please make plans to attend. Please make sure during dismissal time, you are making double lines. Please pull up as close to the car in front of you as possible. We are trying to make our car line as safe as possible and our hope is to get cars off the main road. During this week, October 9th - October 13th, the school will be raising money for United Way. We will have a "Money War" between each homeroom class. The class who brings in the highest amount of money will receive an ice cream sundae party. Last year the school raised $4100. This year our goal is $4500. If the school reaches the goal, Ms. Carey and Mrs. Gonzalez will kiss a bull! The students are pretty excited to watch the administrators kiss a bull. Please help support United Way by donating, if you are able. We have some important days coming up. Please make sure you are reading the Parent Newsletter so you are aware of all that is going on at Middlesex Elementary. We hope you all have a great Sunday and look forward to an amazing week at Middlesex Elementary.

Hello Cougar families! I want to thank the PTO and First Baptist Church of Middlesex for an amazing event yesterday at Middlesex Elementary! It was great seeing so many families attend the event. Everyone had a great time! The vendors had some great deals and wonderful items. Thank you for supporting Middlesex Elementary school! Reminder about our CandyMan fundraiser. The final day to turn in money is October 6th. We need all money turned in by 9am in order for students to be eligible for prizes. Here is the list of prizes: 10 items = students attend the Main Event 20 items = students have time in the awesome gaming truck 30 items = students participate in the pig race and can win a cash prize Top seller gets to choose a very nice prize! Parents, please make sure money and the forms are returned by October 6th at 9am. We have been working to make our car line run smoothly in the mornings and the afternoons. During the morning drop off, if your child is able to open the car door and exit on their own, they may do so once you get to the sidewalk in front of the school. They do not have to wait to get to a person to open the door. Also, please remember at 7:55 the staff enters the building. If you bring your child to school and there is not a staff member at the front of the school, you need to walk your child into the school. We want the students to be safe and if there is not an adult present to supervise then the parents need to walk in the office to check the child in. In the afternoons, please make sure you are making a double line while you wait for school to dismiss. Please pull all the way up to where the caller stands in the afternoons. The caller will alternate cars when calling students names. We are trying to get as many cars off the main street as possible and this will help. We will have a curriculum night on October 10th starting at 5:30 in the gym. During this time, information will be shared concerning academic expectations, parent resources, and a presentation from our Dual Language classes to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. After the presentation, parents will go to his/her child's class for teachers to share some important information regarding how parents can best help their child at home. Please make plans to attend this curriculum event so we can all work together to help your child have a successful school year. Thank you for all your support! Have a great day!
