Good Evening Whaoos, This week at WAVE, our 2nd-grade students will take the CogAT beginning Monday, February 26, through Wednesday, February 28. We will have our Black History program on Thursday, a student-cultural activity just for our students. The Book Fair will be held from March 4 through March 8; we will also celebrate Read Across America and have Dr. Suess's dress-up days; more information is forthcoming. Please contact your child's teacher as to which performance time your child is scheduled. Monday begins our "Black History" dress-up week and is as follows. Monday: Scientist Tuesday: Queen/King Wednesday: Athlete Thursday: Superhero Friday: Wear any or all of the following colors: red, green, black, and yellow Lastly, you have one more week to schedule a parent conference, which teachers can do by phone or in person. Good evening, Wahoos, We want to congratulate our second graders for logging 106,901 minutes total and being selected as a member of the All-Pro Tea! We are so proud of them! Parents, please be on the lookout for attendance letters every 1st and 3rd week of the month. You still have time to send coins for cocoa; this fundraiser ends on February 15. Our staff is delighted to have STREAM Night on Tuesday, February 13, from 5 to 7. Greetings from your Winstead PTO, February is here, and we are excited to raise money for Cocoa Fundraisers through our annual coins. All proceeds will be used for teacher resources and our big WAVE carnival! Please send your spare change and monetary donations to your students. Good Evening Wahoos, We have a lot of exciting events happening this week at WAVE. The PTO is collecting coins for Coco from Monday, February 5, to Friday, February 16. Please allow your children to bring in money for this fundraiser; the class with the largest amount will get a hot coco! PTO will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 6, from 5:30-6:30 pm. The topic of discussion is the Carnival; please come out and get informed about this thrilling event. Parents, please be on the lookout for progress reports on Thursday, February 8. Also, teachers will begin scheduling mid-year parent conferences. The purpose of the meeting is to check in to see where your child stands academically; this can be done by phone or in person. STREAM Night "For the Love of Learning" is Tuesday, February 13, from 5-7 pm. Staff will demonstrate how we interconnect science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math in your child's learning.
