Dear Red Oak Middle Families:
Today, our administration received information regarding a potential threat made to a student that was circulated among students on social media. We immediately contacted our law enforcement partners to investigate the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, Red Oak Middle was placed on a soft lockdown.
Please remember that any potential threat to our campus, students, or staff is always taken seriously. Threats, whether real or not, are never a joke.
Parents, we ask you to partner with us in reinforcing the message that threats of any kind are never appropriate and will not be tolerated. Take this opportunity to remind your student that using threatening language or behavior—whether in person, on social media, through text, or by any other means—is a serious offense that carries severe consequences.
We are grateful for the support of our school community in reporting concerns and teaching one another the importance of, "If you see something, say something." We also appreciate the swift response from law enforcement. It truly takes all of us working together to ensure that Red Oak Middle remains a safe and welcoming learning environment for our students and staff.
Thank you to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office for their swift response.
As always, I am available to speak with you if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you!

Good evening Red Oak Family!
Here are some important announcements for the upcoming week.
The annual United Way Week of Giving is scheduled for October 14th through October 18th. Last year, Red Oak Middle was the highest contributor in Nash County Public Schools with over $6300 raised by staff and students. This year we would like to reach $7000. With this being said, we are offering our students the chance to donate. With a $5 donation, students will be allowed to come to school uniform free during the week of October 14th. We will be accepting these donations this week from Monday through Thursday in homeroom. We will also be accepting Parent donations in the Car Line. Thank you in advance for any contributions.
In Athletics:
Soccer and Volleyball have home matches Monday vs. West Edgecombe and Wednesday vs. Darden.
Tennis has matches at Elm City Tuesday and Home vs. Greene County Thursday.
Football has a home game vs. Nash Central on Thursday.
A reminder that any and all parents that choose to park in the Bus Parking Lot for athletic events MUST NOT block the bus parking spaces. There is a very clear and easy to read sign with a picture and parking directions as you enter the lot. There is also plenty of room to park in our staff lot near the gym.
Have an excellent week!
