Good afternoon, parents and guardians of students who ride bus 216 and bus 208. Due to losing the bus driver for bus 216, we must combine bus 216 and bus 208. Please make sure your child is at their bus stop 20 to 30 minutes before their assigned time. All stops on both buses have changed. Please check Bus Planner for updated times. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Mrs. Gonzalez

What a great day celebrating our grandparents! The students and the grandparents had a great time! Here are a few pictures from today!

Good afternoon Cougar families!
We are very excited to welcome our grandparents to school on Monday. Parents, please make sure you check your "Rooms" for the correct times. Grandparents will need to enter through the front office and sign-in. If you are going to allow your child to be checked out by his/her grandparent then please make sure they are on the pick up list OR send your child's teacher a message.
Tuesday, all 3rd grade students will be administered the 3rd grade Beginning of the Grade (BOG) test. There is nothing your child needs to study for or be anxious about. This test allows teachers to know what your child already knows and what areas the teachers need to work on. Students are not expected to know everything on the test at this point. Please reassure your child to do his/her best. That's all we expect.
Friday, September 15th, will be our Fall Picture day. These pictures are used in our yearbooks so every student will have his/her picture made. Information has been posted previously as well as sent home with your child.
In order for us to ensure a safe and rapid dismissal, please make sure you are in a double line after the staff parking lot. It is our hope, we can get parents off the main road. Please help us make dismissal safe for our students, parents, and staff.
We are excited about our upcoming Fall Festival hosted by The MES PTO as well as First Baptist Church of Middlesex. Make sure you mark your calendars for September 30th. We will send flyers home with your child this week and the flyer has also been posted. You do not want to miss this wonderful event!
We hope you all have a great Sunday and look forward to seeing our students and grandparents tomorrow!

As always, feel free to call the school if you need assistance (252)462-2815.

Bus 82's route will be ran by bus 216. If you are not able to bring your child to school, the route will start around 7:25 so please be on the lookout.

At this time, bus 82 does not have a driver. We are working out a plan for this morning, but if you are able to bring your child to school that would ensure they arrive on time. Thank you for your understanding.

Middlesex Elementary Fall Picture day is September 15th. Please see attached flyer for more information or contact the school at (252)462-2815.

Good evening!
On Monday, September 11th, we would like to celebrate our grandparents by inviting them to come to school. Please review the flyer to make sure you know what time your child will be celebrating his/her grandparents or a grandparent figure in their life.
We look forward to seeing our students grandparent's on Monday, September 11th. Please let the grandparents know!
Thanks!

Good afternoon!
We have been working to make our carline for drop off and pick up run smoother. There is too many vehicles in the back of the school for pick up. Due to the safety of all staff and students, starting tomorrow, PreKindergarten students may be dropped off at the back but will need to be picked up in the front.
Thank you!

Good morning Cougar families!
We just concluded a Lockdown drill with law enforcement. We practice these drills several times throughout the year to ensure the safety of everyone. This was just a drill and everyone did a great job!

Hello Cougar families!
We had an amazing first week of school! This is a few reminders of the upcoming weeks.
School is closed for students and staff on Monday, September 4th, due to the observance of Labor Day.
We do practice fire and lockdown drills throughout the school year. These drills help everyone be prepared should an emergency take place. Please know, should an actual emergency occur, you will be notified as soon as possible.
If your child is a car rider and you arrive after 7:55, you should be walking your child into school. Please make sure you are not opening doors for other parents. After 7:55, everyone should be using the buzzer and wait to be allowed to come in. This is for safety reasons.
Starting Tuesday, September 5th, all PreK students should be dropped off and picked up in the bus circle. Please do not block the drive as the buses do need to enter and exit on time. This will allow PreK parents to sign their child in and out without blocking the car line.
I hope you all have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing all students back at school on September 5th.

Good morning! Bus 82 is going to be 30 minutes late and it will be bus 125. Thank you!

Good evening Cougar families!
I do hope everyone was safe through the storms last night. Tomorrow, MES will be open at our normal times.
We will still have our "Independence Day" tomorrow and students will walk to their class on their own. Parents, do not worry. We have plenty of staff throughout the buildings to make sure your child gets to the correct locations. This is a reminder, any student arriving to school between 7:20 and 7:40 will wait in the cafeteria. They will have an opportunity to eat breakfast, if they choose to.
It's been a great start of the 2023-2024 school year!

Bus 82 parents...the bus broke down on the way to MES. The driver is waiting for a new bus. Bus 82 will be approximately 45 minutes late today.

If you’re not getting messages from Middlesex Elementary School, please contact us to set up a meeting and to get your access code for the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This code helps you see your child’s grades, homework, and how they’re doing, and more.
For the app and “rooms” to work for your child, make sure you’re signed up for the PowerSchool Parent Portal. It’s essential to stay informed and engaged in your child’s education.
If you can’t meet in person, that’s okay. You can setup a virtual meeting. You have to show a proof of identification that proves who you are to get your code. It’s easy, and we’ll help you!
PowerSchool Parent Portal is not new. It’s been around for a long time and we have a goal to reach our entire NCPS community. We are all in this together. Thank you!

Bus update for MES:
