Good Evening Wahoos!
Here are your weekly updates for Winstead Avenue. This is a reminder that tomorrow is picture day. We will use these pictures for our yearbook. You can pre-pay or wait and see your child’s proofs before ordering.
Tomorrow, report cards will also be available online. You can check your child’s e-mail or your parent portal to see their grades. They will be available online for 7 days. Teachers will send home a hard copy of your child’s report card in their weekly folder.
On Tuesday, students can wear their costumes, however, we ask that they do not wear masks or a lot of face paint. We do not want to disrupt the classroom’s learning environment.
This Friday is our CandyMan main event for our students who sold enough items to attend.
Last but not least… Dad’s and/or father figures, please mark your calendar for Friday, November 17th. Our PTO will be hosting a father/kid dance. More information will be going home on a flyer this week.
I hope everyone has a great end to their weekend. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow.
Good Evening. This is a friendly reminder that picture day is Monday! We will use these pictures for our yearbook. They are pre-paid pictures.
The ECPS and NCPS Demerger/Transition Plan Team convened on Monday, October 16, for a joint meeting. They delivered presentations to the Nash County Public Schools Board of Education, Nash County Board of Commissioners, Edgecombe County Public Schools Board of Education, and Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners during the meeting. The submission of the transition plan to the state is scheduled for November 15.
Good Evening Wahoos!
This is a reminder that this week is Red Ribbon Week, where schools across the country highlight the importance of living a drug-free life. To celebrate, our students and staff can dress up daily, but please know that this is optional. You do not need to go out and purchase anything new for these days.
Monday is hat day.
Tuesday is Favorite Character day.
Wednesday is School Spirit wear.
Thursday is Western Wear.
Friday is wear red.
A flyer showing these dates with more descriptions is available on our website and Facebook page. Also, this Tuesday we are inviting our students to come trick or treat with us from 6-7pm. We will have some educational handouts as well for the students to work on at home. If you are able and willing to donate candy to your child's classroom, I am sure the teachers would greatly appreciate it!
This Tuesday we will have our first PBIS celebration at school for our students who have not had an office referral this year or three parent phone calls home due to behavior. We celebrate our students at the school level every 9 weeks. Teachers have daily and weekly awards that they provide students throughout the year.
This Friday our Kindergarten students will be attending their Hillridge Farms field trip. If you have not done so already, please send in your child’s permission slip and pay the $25 fee online.
If your child is in second grade and are in Ms. White, Mrs. Wilson, or Senora Luz’s homeroom, your child will be attending a field trip to Barton College this Friday as well. Please make sure you have sent in your child’s permission slip if you have not done so already. If your child is in a different homeroom, they will be attending Barton at a later date.
Thank you again for your continued support! We hope everyone has a great evening.

Good Evening Wahoos!
This is a reminder that tomorrow is Unity Day and we ask that students and staff join together and wear the color orange to show that we are against bullying.
Also, parents please remember if you are checking your child out of school early, please park in the side parking lot by the buses to get your child. This year we have a double car line in the front of the school. Parents start the car line a little after 1pm. If you come to the front then there is a good chance you will get blocked in.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope everyone has a great evening!
Good Afternoon,
This is a reminder that our district is sponsoring a CTE Business and Industry Roundup this evening from 5pm-7pm at Nash Central High School. There will be many business and industry represented, so students can explore and discover career opportunities in the area. Also, there will be many food trucks at the Roundup serving a variety of foods. I hope to see everyone there!!
(Parents, I am always excited about getting out of cooking, so this is my way of being able to support the district and not cook dinner! Haha.)
This message informs you that Bus 365 and Bus 211 will not run for their PM route today. Please make arrangements to pick up your child from school. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope you have a great day.

Good Evening Wahoos.
This is Mrs. Land, with some updates from Winstead Avenue.
Thank you to all of our Magnificent Moms who came out and ate breakfast at school this past Friday. We had a great turn out! If you were unable to attend, that is perfectly fine. We will have more opportunities for you to fellowship with your child or children in the near future.
Tomorrow, October 16th, is the last day for our CandyMan fundraiser. Remember, in order for your child to attend the main event, he or she will need to sell 10 or more items.
This Tuesday, at Nash Central High School our district’s CTE department is having a Business and Industry Roundup from 5-7pm where a lot of our local businesses will be showcasing what their job has to offer to our community. They are hoping to persuade some of our families to join their business. There will be food trucks and vendors on site. This event is for people of all ages. I will be taking my 3-year-old so that he can enjoy the fire trucks and the different vehicles they will have on display.
This Wednesday is Unity Day where we are asking everyone to wear orange. Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month in October that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
