This initiative reflects our commitment to education with a seamless transition for our community. This is an invitation to attend either one of the upcoming forums regarding the Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) and Edgecombe County Public Schools (ECPS) Demerger, which goes into effect July 1, 2024. We are inviting impacted families and staff to be a part of our NCPS forum, to learn more about the demerger process. Edgecombe County Public Schools Forum Date: Wednesday, September 27, 2023 Time: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Location: DS Johnson Elementary School If you live in Edgecombe County, and you have a child that is Pre-K-8th grade attending any Nash County school, join ECPS leaders for a presentation about ECPS's demerger initiatives. Seniors kicked off their last first day of school with a parade, breakfast and pep talk from Dr. Scott!

SNHS will be providing our sophomores and juniors the opportunity to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT test on Tuesday, October 17th. Those who take it in their junior year may meet the requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. The test will be given during the school day on our campus. All students who are interested should sign up at the front office or pay online. The cost of the test is $18 and this must be paid when you sign up. The last day to sign up will be 9/7/23.

Reminder: Freshmen Orientation and Open House are tomorrow night at the school. You can park in either parking lot and enter through the main entrance with EVOLV beginning at 4:30 PM! 5 PM: Parent meeting in the gym with Dr. Scott! Afterwards, 9th graders will head to your Homerooms and get their schedules.
