I hope you all have enjoyed a good weekend and stayed safe during the storms today and are ready to head back to school tomorrow morning.
It will be a short week at the NEST.
Wednesday will be an Early Release Day for all Students in Nash County. Dismissal will be at 1:00 for Elementary Students.
Thursday and Friday will be Teacher Workdays. There is NO school for students on either of these days.
Tuesday we will have a special treat for our 1st Grade parents and anyone else who wishes to come. We will be entertained by our 1st grade students in a musical. The time for the performance is 2:00 on Tuesday afternoon. Our students are learning read so they will be reading a script and singing songs for all to enjoy. Please come and join me in this special performance.
As a result of the performance we will be running a short schedule for Tuesday. Whenever we run a short schedule, our lunch times change. I know some of you come to eat lunch with your favorite student often, so I am sharing the lunch schedule for short schedule days at the NEST. This will be also the schedule for early release days like Wednesday. So, Tuesday and Wednesday, our lunch schedule is printed below.

It looks like we will start back directing traffic in the mornings. The cars coming in from every direction poses a safety concern from parents and staff. Please enter campus from the ballfield side in order to provide a safe experience dropping off your child. Either I or a staff member will be out helping remind everyone of this procedure. Please help us by doing this.
I want to give a shout out to our 1st grade students for a great field trip this past Friday. I heard it was fun for all and behavior was very good.
I also have another shout out that goes to our S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Teams that competed in a Twin County contest Friday. NCPS schools did a great job with our own SHES Team taking 2nd Place under the direction of Katie Barnes, our 5th grade Math and Science Teacher. I am so proud of all our team and Ms. Barnes. Job Well Done! All top places were won be NCPS teams.
With that, I thank you for your attention and it is a pleasure to serve as your Principal.
