Nash Board of Education Intends to Sell Former Cedar Grove Elementary School
The Nash Board of Education recently declared the former Cedar Grove Elementary School as surplus property, and intends sell it after discussions during a meeting on December 4, 2023.
The Board of Education declared former Cedar Grove Elementary School at 8967 Cedar Grove School Loop Road as “surplus, or unnecessary, or undesirable for public school purposes” during their meeting on December 4, 2023. The Board also offered the property for sale to the Nash County Commissioners at market value. However, the commissioners have declined to purchase the property, so the Board has decided to conduct the sale through the upset bid process.
The Board invites all interested parties to submit their initial offers for purchase. The property, which will be sold "as-is," is approximately 23.13 acres. The Nash County Geographic Information System has the total assessed value of the property at $1,380,100, and at this time, the Board will only consider offers above $290,900. Interested parties are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the procedures outlined in General Statutes, Chapter 160A, Article 12, and any relevant successor provisions.
For further inquiries regarding the property, Jeff Rogers, Assistant Maintenance Director, can be contacted at 252-451-8504 or via email at jjrogers@ncpschools.net.
